Franchise expo Malaysia 2026 and other trade shows for owners

Malaysia's two franchise expos for 2026 are over. Franchise International Malaysia ran at KLCC on 21 to 23 May, and Franchise Expo Malaysia on 23 to 25 July. The next Franchise International Malaysia is set for 6 to 8 May 2027.

Most trade shows for café, salon, spa, car and dental owners also meet at KLCC, and most have announced 2027 dates. We checked every date below on the organiser's own website on 22 October 2026. Where a date isn't announced, we say so; confirm with the organiser before you book.

Most 2026 shows are over, so plan for 2027 now

Franchise buyers: check the brand's branches before the expo

Franchise International Malaysia (FIM) is run by the Malaysian Franchise Association. Its 2027 site gives the dates but not yet the venue.

Franchise Expo Malaysia is run by the Malaysia Retail Chain Association. Check its site for entry terms.

What to look at. A stand shows a brand's best branch. Before you go, list every branch of the brands you like, with their Google ratings. In our library of 1,195 rated laundries in Malaysia (October 2026), the median rating is 4.1 and 41% sit below 4.0; for 1,965 rated car washes, the median is 4.7.

We found no laundry trade show in Malaysia for 2026 or 2027, so the franchise expos are the nearest fit for laundry buyers.

Car service and car wash: Automechanika has a car wash section

Automechanika Kuala Lumpur is a trade show run by Messe Frankfurt. Beside parts, repair and workshop equipment, it has a Car Wash, Care & Detailing product group.

MIAPEX 2026, the Malaysia International Automotive & Parts Expo, covers parts, accessories and commercial vehicles.

What to look at. For workshops, tools that put a written quote in the customer's hand before work starts, since a bill above the quote is a common complaint. Of 265,124 car service reviews in our library published October 2024 to September 2026, owners replied to just 29% of the 1 to 2 star ones.

For car washes, coating, tint and paint protection, plus anything that makes handover checks quicker. "Coating kereta" draws about 1,900 Google searches a month in Malaysia. More on the car wash page.

Salons and spas: two beauty trade shows, both at KLCC

Cosmobeauté Malaysia & beautyexpo is run by Informa Markets: see beautyexpo for 2026 and Cosmobeauté Malaysia for 2027.

IBE International Beauty Expo, run by Elite, calls itself a B2B trade show. Its site shows only the 2027 edition, in KLCC Halls 1 to 4.

What to look at. Head spa and scalp care. "Head spa" draws about 4,400 Google searches a month in Malaysia, and "Korean perm" about 3,600, so barbers should look too.

For salons, also look at how staff are trained to explain, not just what they sell. "No hard selling" is one of Google's review topics for 25% of the best-rated quarter of salons and 6% of the lowest-rated quarter, in our library of 397 salons with topics (October 2026). Cafés and restaurants: FHM skips 2026, so July is the month

Food & Hospitality Malaysia (FHM), long known as Food & Hotel Malaysia, is a trade-only show run by Informa Markets. There is no 2026 edition.

Malaysia International Food & Beverage Exhibition (MIFB) is run by ExpoCO, with Malaysia Café Expo and MyFoodTech alongside.

SIAL Food & Drinks Malaysia is run by Comexposium. International Café & Beverage Show (ICBS) is run by United Expo, whose site does not yet give 2027 dates.

What to look at. For cafés, matcha. "Matcha" is one of Google's review topics for 16% of the best-rated quarter of cafés and 7% of the lowest-rated, in our library of 672 cafés with topics (October 2026). "Strawberry matcha" draws about 18,100 Google searches a month in Malaysia.

Know your prices before suppliers quote. Of 369 cafés with a Google price list in our library (October 2026), the median latte is RM12 (63 cafés). For restaurants, look for kit that speeds up Saturday night: across 1,097 restaurants, Saturday at 19:00 is the busiest hour. Menu ideas are in café menu ideas.

Dental clinics: MIDEC in August is the main show

MIDEC (Malaysia International Dental Exhibition and Conference) is run by the Malaysian Dental Association, whose site does not yet name the 2027 venue. The association also holds a yearly scientific convention with a trade exhibition; check its site for the next dates.

What to look at. Patient experience as much as chairs. Waiting despite an appointment and bills above the estimate are common complaints in dental reviews, so look at booking, reminder and written-estimate systems. Ratings leave little room: of 1,895 rated dental clinics in our library (October 2026), the median is 4.9.

Is Food and Hotel Malaysia on in 2026?

No. The show, now called Food & Hospitality Malaysia, skips 2026 and returns on 21 to 24 September 2027 at KLCC. In 2026, MIFB with Malaysia Café Expo ran in July.

When is the dental exhibition in Malaysia?

MIDEC, the Malaysian Dental Association's international exhibition, runs each August. The 2027 edition is on 20 to 22 August 2027.
