Here is what happened, the 2027 dates for the shows café, restaurant, salon, spa, car and dental owners use, and what to look at when you go. We checked every date on the organiser's own website on 22 October 2026.

When was Franchise Expo Malaysia 2026, and what comes next?

A franchise expo is a show that sells franchises. Malaysia had two in 2026: Franchise International Malaysia on 21 to 23 May and Franchise Expo Malaysia on 23 to 25 July, both at KLCC, by their organisers' websites (checked 22 October 2026). The next FIM runs on 6 to 8 May 2027.

So the franchise expo Malaysia 2026 season is over, and the next chance to walk the stands is May 2027.

Franchise International Malaysia (FIM) is the yearly franchise exhibition of the Malaysian Franchise Association. The Malaysian Franchise Association lists its 2026 show on 21 to 23 May at KLCC.

The FIM 2027 website gives the next show as 6 to 8 May 2027, without a venue yet.

Franchise Expo Malaysia is run by the Malaysia Retail Chain Association. Its website gives 23 to 25 July 2026 at KLCC, and no 2027 dates yet.

We found no laundry or car wash trade show in Malaysia for 2026 or 2027. For buyers in those trades, the franchise expos are the nearest fit.

What should franchise buyers check before an expo?

Check every branch of a brand, not the stand. In the public Google ratings of about 1,200 Malaysian laundries (Highground count, October 2026), the median is 4.1 and 41% sit below 4.0, so branches in one trade sit far apart. Read the weakest branch's reviews before you sign.

• What did head office change there, and when?
• How many branches closed or changed owner in the last two years?
• Can I call two franchisees, one of my own choosing?

Which trade shows in Malaysia should owners plan for in 2027?

Nine trade shows for café, restaurant, salon, spa, car and dental owners already list 2027 dates on their organisers' websites (checked 22 October 2026). Five are confirmed at KLCC. They run from April to October 2027, so set the budget and the staff cover now.

Each show's organiser is linked in the sections below. Dates can change, so confirm with the organiser before you book travel or a stand.

Two things to plan around. MIFB and SIAL Food & Drinks Malaysia share a week in July 2027, so pick one or split the team. Cosmobeauté and IBE fall five months apart, so a salon group can split its budget between them.

When is Automechanika Kuala Lumpur 2026?

Automechanika Kuala Lumpur 2026 ran on 14 to 16 May at KLCC, and the next show is on 8 to 10 April 2027, again at KLCC, by organiser Messe Frankfurt's website (checked 22 October 2026). It has a car wash, care and detailing section, so it suits workshops and car washes.

Automechanika Kuala Lumpur is run by Messe Frankfurt. Its press releases put the 2026 show on 14 to 16 May at KLCC.

Its fair facts page gives 8 to 10 April 2027 at KLCC, and lists a Car Wash, Care & Detailing product group beside parts and electronics.

MIAPEX 2026, the Malaysia International Automotive & Parts Expo, runs with the Asia Automotive Repair Conference. Its website gives 23 to 25 October 2026 at MIECC in Seri Kembangan.

What workshops should look at. Tools that put a written quote in the customer's hand before work starts, since a bill above the quote is a common complaint in car service reviews.

Few workshops answer those complaints. Of about 265,000 car service reviews published October 2024 to September 2026, owners replied to 29% of the one- and two-star ones (Highground count).

What car washes should look at. Coating, tint and paint protection, plus anything that speeds up the handover check. Malaysians searched "PPF" about 2,800 times a month and "coating kereta" about 1,700 times, over the 12 months to September 2026 (Google Ads estimates). More on the car wash page.

Is there a beauty expo in Malaysia in 2026?

Yes. Cosmobeauté Malaysia & beautyexpo ran on 29 September to 1 October 2026 at KLCC, by organiser Informa Markets' website (checked 22 October 2026). Next come IBE International Beauty Expo on 1 to 4 May 2027 and Cosmobeauté Malaysia & beautyexpo on 5 to 7 October 2027, both at KLCC.

Cosmobeauté Malaysia & beautyexpo is run by Informa Markets. The beautyexpo website gives 29 September to 1 October 2026 at KLCC.

The Cosmobeauté Malaysia website gives the next show as 5 to 7 October 2027, again at KLCC.

IBE International Beauty Expo is run by Elite, and calls itself an annual trade show for beauty buyers, suppliers and professionals. Its website shows only the 2027 edition: 1 to 4 May 2027, in Halls 1 to 4 at KLCC.

What salons and spas should look at. Head spa and scalp care. Malaysians searched "head spa" about 4,500 times a month over the 12 months to September 2026, and April to September 2026 ran 31% above the same months of 2025 (Google Ads estimates).

Spas should look at lymphatic drainage massage too. Searches for it averaged about 4,200 a month, and April to September 2026 ran 56% above the year before (Google Ads estimates).

Look at how staff are trained to explain, not just what they sell. "No hard selling" is a Google review topic at 25% of the best-rated quarter of about 400 Malaysian salons with topics, and 6% of the lowest-rated (Highground count, October 2026). More in salon trends 2026.

Is Food & Hotel Malaysia on in 2026?

No. Food & Hospitality Malaysia runs every two years, and its next show is on 21 to 24 September 2027 at KLCC, by organiser Informa Markets' website (checked 22 October 2026). In 2026, cafés and restaurants had MIFB with Malaysia Café Expo, on 15 to 17 July at KLCC.

Food & Hospitality Malaysia (FHM), the show many owners still call Food & Hotel Malaysia, is a trade-only show run by Informa Markets. Its about page calls it biennial and gives the 19th edition as 21 to 24 September 2027 at KLCC.

MIFB, the Malaysia International Food & Beverage Exhibition, is run by ExpoCO with Malaysia Café Expo and MyFoodTech alongside. Its website gives 15 to 17 July 2026 and 21 to 23 July 2027, both at KLCC.

SIAL Food & Drinks Malaysia is run by Comexposium. Its website gives 20 to 22 July 2027 at MITEC.

What cafés should look at. Matcha drinks, and what goes with them. "Matcha" is a Google review topic at 16% of the best-rated quarter of about 670 Malaysian cafés with topics, and 7% of the lowest-rated (Highground count, October 2026).

Malaysians searched "strawberry matcha" about 16,800 times a month over the 12 months to September 2026, and April to September 2026 ran 127% above the same months of 2025 (Google Ads estimates).

Know your prices before suppliers quote. The median latte is RM12 across about 65 cafés with a Google price list. For restaurants, look for kit that speeds up Saturday night: Saturday at 7pm is the busiest hour by Google's popular times for about 1,100 restaurants. Menu ideas are in menu ideas for cafe owners.

When is the dental exhibition in Malaysia?

MIDEC, the Malaysian Dental Association's international exhibition and conference, runs next on 20 to 22 August 2027, by the association's website (checked 22 October 2026). The same page lists the Borneo Dental Congress on 2 to 4 April 2027. Dental reviews in Malaysia peak in December (Highground count).

MIDEC (Malaysia International Dental Exhibition and Conference) is run by the Malaysian Dental Association. Its website lists MIDEC 2027 for 20 to 22 August 2027, and MIDEC 2026 among past events.

The association's website also lists the Borneo Dental Congress for 2 to 4 April 2027.

What dental groups should look at. Patient experience as much as chairs. Waiting despite an appointment and bills above the estimate are common complaints in dental reviews, so look at booking, reminder and written-estimate systems.

Ratings leave little room. In the public Google ratings of about 1,900 Malaysian dental clinics, the median is 4.9 and 74% sit at 4.8 or higher (Highground count, October 2026). Dental reviews peak in December, so set new systems up before then.

How do you get more from a day at a trade show?

Go with a list of problems, not a shopping list. Write down the three complaints customers make most about your branches, and ask each stand how it fixes one. Few owners even answer those complaints: Malaysian restaurants replied to 13% of their one- and two-star reviews from October 2024 to September 2026 (Highground count).

1. Before you go, list the three complaints customers write most about your branches.
2. At each stand, ask how the product fixes one of them, and ask for a customer you can call.
3. Read that customer's Google reviews before you buy.
4. Back at the office, try one product at your weakest branch first, and compare its reviews a month later.
